Community Rules

Section 1 — Age Requirements

Ethora is open to members 16 and older.

18+ is required for anything involving real payment — Ko-fi purchases and upgrades, commissions, and adoptables. Members aged 16–17 can create characters, write stories, and participate in prompts and the gallery, but cannot buy or sell anything through the site until they turn 18.

There is no automated age verification. Misrepresenting your age to access 18+ features is a rules violation.

Section 2 — Content & Themes

Arcanus is a dark-fantasy setting. War, violence, slavery, and psychological horror are part of the canon and are allowed in character writing, art, and prompts as fiction.

Not allowed: content that glorifies, promotes, or trivializes real-world atrocities, real hate groups, or real historical violence. Reports are reviewed case by case.

Section 3 — Content Warnings

Gore, horror, or suggestive content uploaded to the Gallery, Prompts, or Masterlist must be tagged at submission. Tagged images display blurred with a warning label until clicked through.

Moderators can add or correct a tag during review.

Section 4 — No Explicit Content

Explicit sexual content is not allowed anywhere on Ethora — in art, writing, or roleplay — regardless of age or content warnings.

Section 5 — Original Content Only

All art and writing submitted to Ethora must be your own original work. AI-generated art and writing are not permitted anywhere on the site, including as placeholders, regardless of how much a piece was edited afterward.

Section 6 — Art Theft & Plagiarism

Tracing, copying, or closely mimicking another artist's or writer's work without permission is not allowed. If you believe your work — or someone else's — has been stolen or plagiarized, report it privately to a moderator rather than calling it out publicly.

Section 7 — Ownership

The Arcanus species and Ethora as a setting belong to Velkss. Members own the art and writing they personally create.

Section 8 — Currency & Trading

Gold is earned through prompts and events. It cannot be bought or sold for real money, or traded outside the site.

If you resell a character, it must be sold at its original price or less — reselling for a profit is not allowed. Added art or upgrades don't increase a character's resale value.

Section 9 — Account Rules

One account per person. Multiple accounts, shared accounts, and impersonating another member or staff member are all against the rules.

Section 10 — Conduct & Enforcement

Members are expected to treat each other with basic respect — no harassment, hate speech, or targeted attacks.

There is no formal strikes/points system. Reports are reviewed case by case by the moderation team, with responses ranging from a warning to content removal to a ban, depending on severity.

Section 11 — Questions

If you're unsure whether something fits within these rules, ask a moderator before posting it.

Section 12 — A Few Housekeeping Notes

These rules may be updated at any time as the community grows — continuing to participate after a change means you accept the current version. Ethora is provided as-is; we do our best to keep things running smoothly, but can't guarantee the site or its features will always be available.
