Emelyne mostly resides in the northwestern wetlands of Velmyre. Here you find healing sanctuaries, and riverside communities.

To many, she represents the best qualities of the Violet Path: compassion, patience, and a belief that every life has value, no matter their views or their likes. She adores any and all creatures as well, and has her own private reserve outside of her home that homes a plentiful amount of Ethorian creatures.

Travelers often speak of the River Sanctuaries as places where no one is turned away. Refugees of violence, disaster, exhausted travellers, and even former criminals have found shelter in Emelyne's care. Her belief that people deserve the opportunity to change has earned her widespread admiration throughout Velmyre.

It has also earned her criticism.

Some local leaders accuse her of extending mercy too freely. More than once she has welcomed someone into her sanctuaries only for them to betray that trust later. Each time it happens, her critics claim it proves her ideals are unrealistic. Each time, Emelyne refuses to change her approach.

"One person failing does not justify abandoning ten others." The phrase has become closely associated with her throughout Velmyre.

Those who know her personally describe her as warm, patient, clumsy, and remarkably difficult to anger. Yet beneath that kindness lies a stubborn determination that rivals even the most hardened warriors. Once Emelyne decides someone deserves protection, convincing her otherwise becomes nearly impossible.
